Scholarships & Awards
Power Players participants are eligible for a total of $2,500 in scholarship awards, recognizing leadership, creativity, and community impact throughout the program. Award winners are honored at the emPOWER Arkansas Annual Meeting.
Awards include:
Grand Power Player Award
$2,000
Awarded to the participant who demonstrates outstanding engagement, leadership, and communication throughout the program.
Future Energy Leader Award
$1,000
Recognizes a student demonstrating leadership in advancing energy awareness, technology, efficiency, reliability, or innovation
Energy in Action Award
$1,000
Awarded for an outstanding video or written project exploring Arkansas’s energy future, energy-related challenges, or public awareness
Social Media Impact Award
$500 (two awards)
Recognizes effective and engaging use of social media to share insights and connect with others during the program.
What to Expect
Power Players is a leadership and scholarship program for Arkansas high school students who want to make a difference in their communities and learn how energy powers our state.
Energy is at the heart of daily life in Arkansas, powering our homes, schools, businesses, and communities. Power Players gives students a front-row seat to how energy decisions shape our economy, communities, and future.
What You’ll Do
Power Players participants will:
Attend exciting industry and community events
Learn how energy powers homes, businesses, and local economies
Meet professionals working in energy and related fields
Share what they learn through social media and creative projects
Build leadership and communication skills
Compete for scholarship awards
Who Can Apply
Rising juniors and rising seniors in Arkansas high schools (class of 2027 and 2028)
Students from any county in the state
No energy experience required
Open to all genders
Students who are curious, motivated, and ready to learn
Program Timeline
April 20, 2026 - Applications Open
June 1, 2026 - Submission Deadline
June 8, 2026 - Selected Students Notified
What You'll Create
Participants will complete a final reflection or creative project, such as:
A short video
An essay or story
A social media campaign
A creative or multimedia project
Projects focus on what students learned and how energy affects their communities.
